Pastured Poultry

Here at LaValley Farms, our chickens are more than just egg layers!  Our pastured hens enjoy a cage free, barn free existence, all while helping to maintain our soil quality in our farm fields and help utilize all our crops.  

Our hens live on our 60 acres of farm fields, at various locations throughout the season.  While we do have coops for night time protection and laying boxes, our hens are outside, foraging and roaming our fields everyday.

Our chickens get moved from field to field all season.  This helps to fertilize our fields, as well as provide the hens with fresh green field areas regularly.  We also use our hens to glean a field when we are done harvesting.  For example, once our pea season is done, we will move the hens to the pea field and let them eat all the plants.  This is a great way to supplement their diet, all while helping to clean up our finished crops.

As crop farmers, we have always loved being able to provide local, healthy produce.

We started raising meat birds for the same reason.  We wanted to be able to provide our community with 100% all natural, antibiotic free, pastured meat.

Our meat birds are raised very similarly to our laying hens. They are barn free, cage free, pasture raised in mobile coops.  We raise them in small batches to ensure all birds needs are met. It is very important to us that we provide them with the best life they can have while in our care.

This continues through to our processing.  We take pride in honoring their lives through a humane and stress free processing system utilized on farm.

Our meat birds are available fresh, weekly starting in June.  We only raise them in the spring as that is season we have the time to dedicate to their care.  After June, we have meat birds available frozenthrough November.  Please call 603-485-3541 to check availability or email info@lavalleyfarms.com

Our turkeys are raised the same way as our meat birds.  We raise a small quantity each year so we can be sure to have the time to give them the best care.  We only raise one flock, for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

Our turkeys are 100% all natural, preservative free, pasture raised.
